yet another christmas has come and gone...but the celebration never really dies (at least for me).
it keeps me going throughout the year
until such time when that magical mystical burst of energy
gets revived and renewed.
i've always wondered why i never really lose that
warm fuzzy feeling of christmas.
until i heard this song on christmas day in church.
"christmas isn't christmas
till it happens in your heart.
somewhere deep inside you
is where christmas really starts.
so give your heart to jesus,
you'll discover when you do...
that it's christmas,
REALLY christmas for you."

my friend called me one day and told me he needed help.he said he needed to attend to the 'calls of the nation' and so he needed someone to stand in for him at his job.
he told me the pay wasn't too bad and that the job was pretty easy.
he told me he was the...
SECURITY GUARD(yeah... start rolling your eyes)
so here's my story of being a stand-in security personnel for some flea market-ish event thingy.
i got really bo liao during my time there so i decided to be professional and create a log of events that happened so i can report them if needed. here goes -
0730H Arrived at Clarke Quay Centre Area (i.e Base Camp) to take over my friend who ended the night shift. Can see/sense that he is visibly relieved. Start listening to Weekend Buzz on 98.7FM to pass the time.

0945H My first toilet break of the day. Had to tahan for nearly 2 freaking hours.
0950H Spotted a photographer with some China girl snapping happily at the place in front of me. She appeared to look pretty old and rather chubby. Thought to myself: "Hope he didnt pay much for her".

1000H Tourist start to enter the surrounding area. Most of them are caucasian with some asians. Most of the asians dont look local. They are ALL camera crazy! They just seem so fascinated with everything. One even took a photo of me while i was writing this.
1005H I'm getting pretty hungry and wondering what's for lunch.
1015H My ears hurt from listening to the radio for so long. Decided to start reading my book.
1155H Some random indian worker approached me and asked if he could put some chlorine into the drain (which is located in the centre of the square i'm guarding). The task was completed without complications.
1315H Went for second toilet break.
The log ended here. i got way too bored and frustrated from sitting there in the sun doing nothing and not being able to leave. Not to mention that i was beginning to become delirious from hunger.
all that kept me going was dreaming of this...

haa.finally the chance to blog.
my lousy 256 MB RAM desktop has officially been canned!
after years of slaving away using such a retro computer, i have finally received my salvation.
as you might now guess, i AM typing this entry on my 1-day old 4 GB RAM laptop!
haa.
anyways, i'm starting to think that these couple of days are 'days of delivery'. just a couple of minutes ago, my second (and VASTLY MORE important) package just arrived via courier.
so HELL YEAH! UOL has finally given me my 4.20kg worth of Study Guides and other documents. time to hit the books.
haa.
lastly, i wanna talk about fireworks. i was up last night gaming on my sweet new lappy (yes, i am rather shameless when it comes to this) and watching the opening of the 29th olympiad of the modern era (the Beijing Olympics 2008 for short) when i realised that China had probably gone for an overkill effect when it came to the fireworks department! they had some short of pyrotechnic going off every few minutes. as they say, great for the eyes but bad for everything else. plus, today is singapore's turn to create more pollution during the annual national day parade. is there anyone out there that wishes to partake of this local spectacle?
haa.
world peace people, world peace.

a lot is never more than the sum of her parts.
